Trailer

Songs from the hills,
hymns from the heart.

The story of the last
real American music festival.

The Laurel Cove Music Festival is both a throwback to an earlier time in music and a bridge to what’s next; an event where Appalachia is celebrated, bonds are formed, and America is, at least for one sultry summer weekend, truly the United States. With just 1,400 seats it’s one of the hardest tickets in music, but now worldwide audiences will get a taste of this legendary event as we go behind the scenes to tell the story of the region, the music, the organizers, the artists, and the fans who together make this a transcendent experience.

Where the Mountains Sing is about more than the music festival. It is about a place that still answers when people call, and a people who still gather to answer back. When voices rise together in these hills, they are doing what has always been done—affirming that the place still lives, and so do they.
